Justin Bieber, 19, has been arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) and drag racing.
The Boyfriend hitmaker was arrested on Thursday in Miami Beach, Florida, after driving a rented Lamborghini, police sources told NBC 6 South Florida.
The Miami Herald have reported Bieber and his friends used their cars to block traffic on Pine Tree Drive at 26th Street, a residential area, at 4:30 a.m., creating a drag strip for the young star, who was in a yellow Lamborghini.
Hours after the arrest, Police Chief Raymond Martinez confirmed in a press conference outside the Miami Police station that Justin will face charges of DUI, driving with an expired license out of the state of Georgia and resisting arrest without violence.
It was revealed the performer was going 'up to 55 to 60 mph' in a residential neighborhood where the limit is 30 mph.
'The officer smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Mr Bieber's car,' Martinez said.
'He used some choice words about why he was stopped or why I was even questioning him.'
The officer also noted Justin was 'a little belligerent.'
According to the police report, the former YouTube sensation used the F word repeatedly.
'Why did you stop me?' said the singer. The officer noted he stopped him because he was drag racing, and in his report, noted Bieber had 'bloodshot eyes.'
After the officer asked the Believe star to step out of the car, he said, 'Why the f*** are you doing this?'
Justin got out of his car, but kept putting his hands in his pocket. The officer stated in his report he asked the teen to then put his hands on the vehicle. That's when the singer said, 'What the f*** did I do, why did you stop me?'
When the Canada native turned to fake the officer, he said, 'I ain't got no f****ing weapons, why do you have to search me? What the f*** is this about?'
In a tweet, Miami Beach police confirmed the star is being transferred to Miami Dade County Corrections.
Martinez told the paper: 'Tests showed that Bieber was under the influence of drugs.'
The paper also reported that the singer was 'incoherent, had his hands in his pockets and resisted arrest without violence'.
He added: 'He also did not have a valid license.'
Police have confirmed Bieber had been drinking beer, was under the influence of anti-depressants and had been smoking marijuana.
The singer's friend rapper Khalil Sharief has also been arrested and was seen driving Justin's red Ferrari.
The star was seen driving away from a club in Miami with a pretty model, who is reportedly Chantel Jeffries.
The 19-year-old model has dated a string of stars including P. Diddy's son, American footballer DeSean Jackson and Bieber's friend Lil Twist.
According to her Twitter biography, she's a 'student, model, eyebrow connoisseur, animal lover, and deep thinker.'
He posted a photograph on Instagram after a visit to a skate shop in Miami and has been spending time with friends.
Meanwhile, Justin - who reportedly spent $75,000 at a strip club over the weekend - had his home in Calabasas, California, searched by police last week after he was accused of a vicious egg attack on his neighbour.
Detectives reportedly raided the 19-year-old star's mansion and one person was arrested on suspicion of drug possession.
In July last year, marijuana and drug paraphernalia was also seized from one of the the singer’s tour buses although Justin was not on the bus at the time.
Miami Beach Police have tweeted: '#BreakingNews confirming @justinbieber has been arrested for DUI & Drag Racing more info & press release coming.'
NBC in South Florida have reported the singer was stopped 'early on Thursday morning while driving a rented Lamborghini.'
The 19-year-old is thought to be in custody and a police statement is due imminently.
Sky news are reporting: 'He (Justin Bieber) will be transferred from the police station to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center where he will be able to be bailed out.'
Earlier in the week the star had been hanging out in Miami with his father and friends, taking walks down the beach and riding Segways.
The star's mum, Pattie Mallette, told The Sun newspaper earlier this week: 'I think so many people go into the entertainment industry with amazing Christian roots and they go in with the right morals and they get influenced somehow.
'I ask that people keep me and Justin in their minds. I pray for him every day. If Justin's struggling, don't kick him when he's down or condemn him - pray for him.'
