There is serious commotion in Ugbowo area of Benin city at the moment after a peaceful protest by students/ workers of the University of Benin (Uniben) turned violent.
There was a protest after the Edo state government demolished the staff quaters of the university in the Government residential area (G.R.A) including the Vice Chancellor's house.
The protest led to the burning of the state government's shuttle buses and Uniben's shuttle bus.
