Muhammadu Buhari Emerges As Nigeria’s New President!!!

History was made in the early hours of April 1st, 2015 when INEC Chairman Attahiru Jega announced the results of the Presidential elections in Nigeria. General Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressives Congress (APC), presidential candidate was declared the winner while President Goodluck Jonathan came second.

Prior to this victory, General Buhari had run for Nigeria’s most prestigious office thrice without any luck. He kept dusting himself up and trying to win till luck smiled on him. This time, he emerged victorious and has been named Nigeria’s president after defeating the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party in a keenly contested and tension-soaked election.

The elections which was generally described as free, fair and peaceful, saw the APC candidate coming tops.
He won by 15,424,921 to 12,853,162 votes.
President Goodluck Jonathan a man with a meek heart and a selfless leader, put a call to General Buhari yesterday to congratulate him on his victory. This single act alone won President Jonathan more admiration and praises from both Nigerians and the outside world. It also prevented any form of political violence.

God bless Nigeria!!!
