The first lady of Nigeria Dame Patience Jonathan visited the capital city of Edo state yesterday the 15th of march, 2015. The first lady who was expected at 8am did not arrive till 1.35pm at the Benin Airport. Mama P was accompanied by other top PDP women rally. Her first port of call was The Palace of the Oba of Benin Kingdom before proceeding to the Ogbemudia station to meet party supporters.
It was not a fun day for residents as they were stuck in traffic. There was a standstill as all roads from the Benin airport, Airport road. Mission road, Sapele road, Akpakpava road and all roads leading to Ring road was blocked by men of the armed forces. Commuters were forced to trek long distances and even a bride in her wedding gown was seen walking in flat slippers while trying to get to the Oredo local government council to exchange marital vows #crazy. A mad man in front of Akenzua Cultural Centre was seen complaining bitterly about how politicians cause Nigerians to go through hard times after seeing the massive crowd of people trekking #lol.
Later in the evening, one lane of the ever busy Airport road was cleared for road users.
