Fuel Pump Price Reduced From N97 To N87 Per Litre In Nigeria

The Nigerian government has announced a reduction in the fuel price of petrol from N97 per litre to N87 per litre.
The Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, said at a press conference at the presidential villa, Abuja, on Sunday that the new price regime would take effect at midnight today.

Mrs. Alison-Madueke said the N10 reduction in fuel price was necessitated by the reduction in crude oil prices in the international market.
The Petroleum Product Pricing Regulatory Agency [PPPRA] and the Department of Petroleum Resources [DPR] have been asked to enforce strict compliance with the new pricing regime as soon as it becomes effective, the minister said.
The new measure is a reversal of government’s policy on the matter.
The Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, had insisted on December 17 that Nigeria would  not reduce the pump price of fuel despite falling oil prices at the international market, until the revenue crisis occasioned by the dwindling oil rates is over.
Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala said at the time that the decision to review fuel price either upwards or downwards would only be taken after the current crisis in global oil prices had been settled.
But five days ago, on December 13, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Muhammadu Buhari, called on the government to implement immediate price reduction on fuel products to reflect the downscaling in global oil prices.
Speaking through his campaign organization, the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Mr. Buhari asked the government to “stop stealing from Nigerians and allow them enjoy the relief that has come to consumers of petroleum products globally”.
The APC candidate had said, “The price of diesel which has been deregulated since 2009 still sells at the pump price of N150 and N170 per litre, the same pump price when the international benchmark per barrel of crude was over $100. Now that the international benchmark has dropped to $47.5 (USD) per barrel as at Monday, we ask: where is the deregulation and the relief which it ought to bring to local consumers of diesel?
“For the Nigerian consumers, unfortunately the collapse of crude oil price since October 2014 has not translated into any change in diesel, kerosene and PMS prices across the country.
“We challenge the federal government to reconcile the information on the website of the Petroleum Products Pricing and Regulatory Agency, indicating the maximum open market price of diesel per litre in December 2014 as being at N111.6 and the fact that the price has come down to less than $50 (USD) as at Monday.
“We want to posit that that the maximum indicative benchmark open consumers of diesel should pay is at a margin below N100 per litre. Therefore, Nigerians are being short-changed by about N50 to N70 on every litre of diesel sold by government.”
The Trade Union Congress [TUC] had earlier on January 5 asked the government  to take advantage of the falling oil prices to reduce retail prices of petroleum products.
The TUC had argued that the best time to review the retail pump price of petrol was now, in line with the argument put forward by government in 2012 when the price was adjusted from N70 per litre to N97.

Shocking! Kim Kardashian's Step Father Bruce Jenner Decides To Change To A Woman

This is certainly not a happy time for Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian's mother. Her husband of over 20 years Bruce Jenner has finally decided to change his sex/gender from male to female.

According to radaronline.com, Bruce Jenner’s family is stepping up their support amid new reports he’s set to go public with his transformation. One source tells RadarOnline.com that his sons Brandon and Brody, in particular, recognize the former Olympic athlete is struggling with gender identity issues — and hope that the resulting media storm won’t be too much for him to bear.

“It’s obvious to anyone that he is struggling with gender identity issues,” the insider said.

Indeed, on Wednesday, a celebrity magazine featured Bruce on the cover, with lipstick, and long hair.

“The magazine cover didn’t come as a surprise to the brothers, but they both feel it’s very insensitive to the LGBT community,” the family source revealed. “Both Brandon and Brody are both very strong supporters of LGBT people. They’re standing by their dad through this.”

According to In Touch magazine, Bruce “will come clean in 2015 about transitioning.”

An insider close to the 65-year-old reality star tells the magazine, “This will be the year of his coming out. He knows that people have recognized his changes, and he’s finally becoming more comfortable with himself and his choice to become a woman.”

And in typical Jenner-Kardashian family fashion, the big reveal will allegedly be accompanied by a splashy photoshoot.

“When Bruce goes public, he wants to go big and come out as a transwoman on the cover of The Advocate, the ultimate LGBT magazine,” a source told In Touch. “He wants to look as glamorous as possible— full makeup with a bold wardrobe.”

In the meantime, the insider told Radar, “Brandon and Brody will continue to support their dad, and if does indeed, make the transition to being a woman, their feelings for him won’t change.”

Fashion Trendz: How To Style Pearl Accessories

Pearl is a must have for every fashionable woman. It oozes of elegance and sophistication due to its timeless vintage style. Pearl jewellery is rocked by every fashionable lady, from the house wives in Lagos to the supermodels in Paris.

The following are ways to rock the beautiful pearl and look glamorous.

1. Layer multiple strands of pearl necklace according to the sizes and lengths. Pearls come in various colours even though white is the most popular. You can also layer them with other necklaces.

2. Pearl earrings are just as glamorous as the necklaces. You can put on a chandelier or long dropping pearl earrings in the evening or at night and put on a stud or two steps pearl earrings during the day or to work.

3. There is no such thing as too much pearls in a necklace. The more the merrier (wink). Chunky pearl necklace are a fashion statement that makes any outfit standout. When putting on a chunky pearl necklace, make sure you do not put on any other bold bracelet or earrings. Keep your dress also simple to avoid over doing it. (Got a chunky pearl necklace some days back and i can't wait to rock it, don't want to be left out #hehehe). The perfect chunky necklace has little details like a chain, ribbons or a girlie brooch.

4.  Pearl bracelets can also be layered according to how full you like it. They look adorable and would attract people to stare at your hands.

5. For ladies who love hair accessories, pearl is included in hair combs, clips, crowns and bands. They are also perfect for brides who want to look glamorous on their special day.

6. Pearl rings which have been adorned by women of different generations is still a timeless fashion accessory. Pearl rings are placed in gold and silver metals and is a sight to behold on any finger.

7. Very few women know how a tiny piece of jewellery like a brooch can change their outfit to something elegant and sophisticated. Pearl brooch is equally as adorable as every piece of pearl jewellery i have mentioned earlier. The pearl brooch can be attached to your jackets and shirts.
