Stars post pics from First Lady Michelle Obama's 50th birthday party

More than 500 partygoers were serenaded Saturday night in the White House East Room by the likes of John Legend, Beyoncé and Stevie Wonder. Despite a strict no cellphone policy, revelers couldn't help themselves, snapping photos before and after the party.

Bill and Hillary Clinton joined Beyoncé for Michelle Obama's 50th birthday party, which ran from Saturday night until the wee hours of Sunday.
More than 500 partygoers descended on the White House East Room for light snacks and a dance fest, with a star-studded entertainment lineup to cheer them on.
John Legend sang "Happy Birthday" to the President's wife, Beyoncé belted out hits like "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" and "To the Left," and Stevie Wonder serenaded the crowd with "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours" and "Do I Do," sources from the party told the Chicago Tribune.
President Obama, first daughters Malia, 15, and Sasha,12, and the First Lady's mother, Marian Robinson, were among the guests on hand to celebrate the stylish birthday girl, who donned a flowing red blouse and pants for the affair.
Sources said she "was often dancing" during the night and "seemed very comfortable and happy. Very celebratory."
Guests were told in their save-the-date notice to eat before they arrived, but there were still some meager offerings of finger foods and a fully stocked open bar, guests said.
Despite a strict cellphone ban and instructions of "no social," snapshots of guests before and after the fête emerged and scores of excited guests couldn't help but tweet their thanks to the first family for being included.

Jennifer Hudson posted this glam picture of herself and fiancé, David Otunga, after attending First Lady Michelle Obama's 50th birthday party.

Beyoncé, who attended the party solo since her husband, Jay-Z, was performing in Boston, shared a snap of her petting first dog, Sunny, on her Tumblr page, along with shots of her toddler daughter, Blue Ivy, playing with the presidential pup.

Jennifer Hudson also shared a glam shot of herself with fiancé, David Otunga, dressed for the party, "We had such a good time with the 1st family in dc tonight!" she wrote on Instagram.
Retired NBA star Magic Johnson shared a photo of himself with wife, Cookie, and actor Samuel Jackson and Jackson's wife, LaTanya, outside the White House gates.
No word on what the First Lady received by way of gifts but her husband's present came early - an extra week in Hawaii for some girl time at Oprah Winfrey's Maui mansion.
Her actual birthday fell on Jan. 17, and she tweeted a photo of herself displaying her membership card to the AARP.
"Excited to join Barack in the 50+ club," she wrote.
